I’ve been going here for the past few years. While the food is good (a bit small for the price you pay), the service has always been a hit or miss! Not a nice feeling when you’re spending $200 or more for dinner for two.Yesterday however was the last nail on the coffin for the place in my book. I can’t believe a hostess would blatantly discriminate a pregnant woman at 34 weeks for asking to be moved from a table without back support to another. It was almost as if I asked her for something personal!! She made no effort to accommodate this request. When my husband told her we couldn’t stay since there’s no way they can accommodate us, he asked if she could suggest another place around there we could go instead. She told him verbatim “try the diner!”. I can’t help but wonder why she said the diner when there’s a Japanese place next door and lots of other places around. It’s not like Tai pol is a diner type food! Simply unprofessional and sadly ruined our date night before baby #2 came.

The food was good, it is an indoor place, not open roof. We ordered bunch of stuff, fried fish, steam fish, shrimps, lamb skewers, etc for the table. Would easily need two dished to fill even a small appetite. It is not definitely, you order one dish and you will be full, as i got deceived with the images, thinking portions are huge. I loved the shrimp's broth, I has like 15-20 shrimps in it.

Every bite of food was better than the bite before. My wife and I had scallops, shrimp, skirt steak, croquettes and a fava bean plate. All of which were amazing. Can't wait to go back.

Excellent food and great service from the waiter for wine advice. The lamb skewers are a must have and the croquettes are some of the best you can have in the city. As for flan, it's more a matter of it's good or terrible. This is good flan.

We very much liked the po boy— not very Spanish but it is well done. Everything else is above average and service is excellent.

As soon as you bite into the sharp, crunchy bread, you know these folks take their food seriously. Delicious tapas with high quality ingredients, and extremely helpful staff. Don't forget to check the specials for treats like fried pig ears!

It's a beautiful, small space that really feels intimate. The food is perfect. My wife is Catalan and we do the tour of Spanish restaurants in the city. Usually she let's me pick a few plates, but this time she said she couldn't spare any because they all seemed so good. There is a lot of fish, especially anchovies and everything is delicious. The bread with tomatoes is a pretty simple dish, but really really done well here.

The food is worth every penny. Bring your friends and share everything on the menu. Come in during happy hour. The waitress was really nice and gave us wonderful recommendations. She also let us know that happy hour was ending, but said we could order off the happy hour menu for our first round of drinks.

I loved it. Nice people place. And looks poetic to me with their wine menu card showing maps from small villages and town in Spain. You should definitely try the chicken liver mousse

Truly authentic and delicious Spanish tapas place. Food is exquisite and refined. Our waitress was extremely professional and kind. Flabbergasting. Rates are quite high but relatively low for the area and the quality of service and food. Totally recommend it.

The food and service and this place were exceptional. We tried the cheese platter, the fried chickpeas, the special with mussels, and some really good red wine. Wholeheartedly recommend stopping by, this place is great!

Super cozy Spanish tapas place in Chelsea. Loved everything I’ve tried here: kale salad with artichoke and white asparagus, tomato salad with tuna, chicken liver, and so on. Would love to come back!

Good quality of food. Plates are too small for what you pay for similar restaurants in the area and similar Spanish restaurants. Their menu lacks churros as a dessert. They include a mandatory 18% tip (N), and we were only a group of 4. They didn't tell this ahead neither the waiter gave us a heads-up when handing the bill.I'd not come back again, and the trick of the tip was sneaky.

Overpriced for what they serve, wait staff was not very friendly, got half the order wrong and gave attitude when we tried to send it back...I don't drink but they want to upsell you on wine... Not going back there

Cute tapas spot with a nice intimate vibe. Most of the people here seemed to be a date so would not recommend for groups larger than 4 or 5. Since this place is small, reservations are recommended. The food here was pretty good, especially the steak and garlic shrimp.

The tapas were melt in your mouth! Fast service and attentive servers made it a wonderful evening for my buddy visiting from SF. They also gave us useful suggestions to get bread with the scallops to scoop up the sauce and it was heavenly. We got lamb chops, scallops, jamon, deviled eggs, trout and more stuff I lost count. All food came out super quick too. My buddy tried the sangria which was also delicious.

Probably one of the best tapas places in Manhattan. All of them were very tasty and made with fresh food. They even had squid with ink which I've never seen it before in the U.S. Good selection of wines too. They are pricey albeit in line with NYC prices. Recommended, I'll be back.

I love this place! They give fantastic dishes, their menu is rich, The cook in that place is a real authority in the kitchen, I love a lot eating all their food. The dishes are consistently tasty, the service towards the visitors is efficient. I visit often this place and I not even once was disappointed. Highly recommended.

We had a Spanish ancestor that's why eating here reminds me of home. My mom always cooks many dishes with corn and tapas.

Tiny place. In summer, sit at the bar. The tables in back have no windows or air-conditioning and the heat was pretty bad.The service was good. The small plates all delicious. But really tiny portions for the price. And I really wish a place that charges this much would make the effort to put 4 items on the plate instead of 3 when there are 4 patrons sharing. Just basic etiquette. 'That said, the food was as good as could be. This would be an amazing place if the portions were larger and the atmosphere more pleasant. For food, they get 5 stars, but a poor value for the money and atmosphere.

This is my new favorite place! Tía Pol was the best choice to catch up with a friend over a glass of cava and cheese plates. We tried a few tapas and we enjoyed every bite. I think our favorite was definitely the plato de quesos variados. They pair the cheese with bread and raisins or olives. We also got a bottle of cava rosé which was so worth the price and just went well with everything. I've been telling everyone about Tía Pol and will be dining there again, loved it!

Questions & Answers

Not a kid place, it's kinda a cozy/romantic date place. There is a long wait depending on the time you go. Day time will be fine for what you're looking for. Evenings are packed and candlelit.
